Despite Covid-19, 10 new schools have opened this year and several schools have expanded in Dubai adding 14,670
new seats in the 2021- 2022 academic calendar with a focus on Australia, UK, US and IB curricula.
According to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai registered a 2.6% school enrolment growth between September 2020 and February 2021. This serves as testament to Dubai’s booming school education landscape.
UAE will require 150 additional K-12 schools by 2023 to accommodate its growing school-going population, which is expected to reach 1.5 million in the next couple of years, according to the GCC Education Industry Report published by Dubai-based research firm, Alpen Capital.
The anticipated rise in school goers will drive enrolments in the K-12 sector supplemented with other key factors such as the rising popularity of private education and an expected hike in the influx of expatriates.
